PUD 9088

A polyurethane dispersion for manufacturers producing PU gloves — where tactile sensitivity and low ionic content are specification requirements and natural rubber proteins are not acceptable.

What it changes

Fusion Agent changes how a line runs. PUD 9088 changes what a line can make. It sits at the polymer dip — the stage that determines the product itself — and it opens categories that nitrile cannot serve well.

For a manufacturer, that is a different kind of decision from a process upgrade. It is a product-mix question: whether to add polyurethane capability alongside an existing nitrile or latex operation, and what that capability is worth in segments where specification, not price per box, decides the sale.

Where PU film is specified

  • Tactile sensitivity — surgical, laboratory and precision assembly work, where feel through the glove is part of the task.
  • Low ionic and particulate contamination — critical clean-room environments with contamination limits that a general-purpose glove will not meet.
  • No natural rubber latex — healthcare and consumer settings where NRL proteins, and the Type I allergy associated with them, must be excluded by composition.
  • Reduced washing requirement — lower ionic content in the polymer can shorten the washing sequence, which returns line time and water.

Why it matters financially

There are two independent effects. The first is mix: PU serves higher-specification segments where pricing is set by capability rather than by the nitrile spot market. The second is exposure: a manufacturer running only nitrile carries the full volatility of acrylonitrile and butadiene pricing, and a second polymer capability is a partial hedge against that.

Applications

Where PU gloves are used.

Surgical

Procedures where tactile feedback through the glove affects the work.

Clean room

Environments with defined particulate and ionic contamination limits.

Laboratory

Handling of fine instruments and samples where feel and low extractables matter.

Examination

Healthcare settings requiring a latex-free glove by composition.

Electronics assembly

Precision handling with low ionic transfer to the workpiece.

Food service

Supply

PUD 9088 is supplied under exclusive arrangements with qualified manufacturing partners. In Southeast Asia, supply and on-site technical support run through Excelkos-Tiarco Sdn. Bhd.; in North America, directly through PUGL.

We quote pricing by region and volume against a qualified specification, and we do not publish it. Start with a technical conversation and a sample program.

Combined with Fusion Agent

PU lines running both

A PU line running Fusion Agent gets the process effect at former cleaning and, in addition, the opportunity to set a thermal cure profile suited to polyurethane rather than one inherited from a rubber process.
